Byron James

The biggest kid you will ever meet, Byron was born and raised in North Vancouver and remained a true North Shore boy until the ripe old age of 21. Then, he sought to leave the nest. While many head to New York, Los Angeles or even London to find fame and fortune, Byron chose to seek stardom in…Edmonton? Oh well. It was there that Byron found his love of country-rock.

Returning to live in Vancouver, Byron’s musical tastes expanded to include all genres. Music and entertainment became his passion.

This passion took him in the direction of radio. A graduate from BCIT Polytechnical Institute in Radio Broadcast communications, and backed by an additional diploma in Hospitality Administration, Byron was hired at JRFM in 1999.

He has been at 93.7 JRfm in Vancouver as an on air personality for the past 9 years, which also happens to be Canada’s number one country radio station. In 2008 he was nominated as on air personality of the year by the British Columbia Country Music Association. He is also a member of the music committee for Vancouver's newest adult alternative station 100.5 THe Peak and sits on the BCIT Radio Advisory Committee. 

In addition to this he runs Echo One Productions Inc., his full service entertainment group of companies which he formed in the spring of 2000.

Byron’s personal and business philosophy is simple. Use integrity, honesty, hard work, and incorporate common sense into everything you do. Combine this with the drive and determination to never quit and have fun along the way and that’s at the core of Mr. James.
